Qa Technician
Until the unfortonate cancellation of their GaaS title - Hyenas - I took the opportunity to join Creative Assembly as I am a great fan of the studio and their games, being taken on with a particular interest in my background and experience. I was chosen to take on the role of becoming the stakeholder in crashes and stability for the Hyenas project, as well as joining the platform team due to my previous experience with current generation games consoles. In this role I supported and taught others how to use development consoles and associated tools such as target managers and XDKs. I then became the owner of all crashes taking place in development builds, with my mentor moving to become the live release cooridnator and focus his attentions there, though I still supported the triaging, bugging and assignment/tracking of these issues as well, also taking on his role as the embedded QA within the network team. In this time I have gained a deep understanding of callstacks and logging (Aided by my development background) and have taught these skills and the processes I implemented to 3 different external team members, who became my support as my role grew ever broader. My role also covered the creation of weekly reports on the stability of the project with all associated metrics, as well as having a guiding role of the automation and integration of services such as Elastic Search, Jira and Backtrace.
