I worked in the Operations Group at corporate headquarters, who's main focus was overseeing inventory management and fulfillment of orders at our Third Party Logistics Warehouse. I coordinated large incoming and outgoing freight shipments from all over the world. I assisted with various shipping needs including shipping and receiving out of HQ, troubleshooting customer shipping issues, filing claims and researched and implemented projects to improve our overall shipping program. I was the Operations coordinator and liaison for our Pico Pak pipeline program which oversaw the implementation and creation of Pico Paks from recipe to manufacturing and fulfillment. I coordinated with the Marketing team to ensure that our inventory could support various promotions. I assisted with purchasing of office and lab supplies at HQ as well as Pico Pak ingredient forecasting and purchasing.

I oversaw the Sample Control program within the Shipping and Receiving Laboratory in an independent, ISO environmental testing lab. Responsibilities of the Shipping and Receiving Laboratory include: the creation and shipping of sampling kits to clients, cleaning sampling equipment, instrument and equipment maintenance, sample receipt, handling and compliance, chain of custody management of samples from cradle to grave, as well as inventory management. I supervised a group of 5-6 employees, who's titles ranged from Sample Control Technician to Inventory Assistant to Disposal Specialist. I communicated closely with Project Mangers to ensure that deadlines for projects were met and also coordinated various facilities needs and operational projects. I believe a comfortable, engaging work environment is important, and I ensured that the environment in the Shipping and Receiving Laboratory remained respectful, flexible and fun!

I was responsible for managing the inventory for the laboratory. Responsibilities included maintaining appropriate stocking levels of consumables to support normal laboratory function, purchasing, vendor relations and pricing negotiation, forecasting, coordination with Project Management to ensure proper allocation of inventory for future projects. I created and implemented a Kanban system for all laboratory supplies, which improved inventory efficiency, smoothed the process for low stock notifications, as well as decreased out of stock occurrences and rush orders.
