Providing analytical support to the investigations by the Fraud Teams and Financial Intelligence Unit.Responsible for the production of crime and intelligence products supporting national objectives to tackle serious and organised crime.Working alongside the Officer in the Case, to analyse complex crime networks utilising specifically designed software packages.Conduct intelligence development and evidential analysis, and contribute to the development of strategies and identification of enforcement, disruption and prevention opportunities.Findings are utilised by law enforcement and the wider counter fraud community to disrupt and prevent criminals from committing fraud and cyber crime.

In the London Regional Fraud Team (part of the Regional Organised Crime Unit), I provide analytical support to pro-active operations tackling serious and organised fraud.Investigations focus on complex fraud, with the aim to convict offenders and dismantle organised crime groups operating at a national and international level. The analytical products are in accordance with NIM (the National Intelligence Model) and can be for either intelligence development or for use in evidence.In this post I have also worked on operations run by the Fraud Investigation teams within the Economic Crime Directorate of the CoLP, and have recently gained experience supporting the Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department on a number of cases.

Within the National Analysis Unit, I produced strategic, tactical and operational analytical products in accordance with NIM (the National Intelligence Model).The unit focussed predominantly on cross-border criminality; identifying emerging trends and making recommendations to support managerial decision making and the deployment of resources.I commonly used MapInfo, Business Objects, i2/iBase and other internal databases to enhance my products and align them to the audience that would be receiving them.In authoring national profiles I frequently presented the findings to Senior Management and built relationships with specialists to add value to products.Multi-agency working was also essential to the role through liaison with industry partners, external agencies and law enforcement.

This role sat within the National Analysis Unit and predominantly involved supporting analysts within the team, responding to requests from external agencies and working with members of staff in other departments to produce analytical products. Key areas of note were evaluating intelligence, rapidly and accurately searching a number of intelligence sources, assessing the relevance and impact of research results and providing data or summaries in a effective and manageable format.
