After completing a Bachelor of Science in Family Life from Brigham Young University in 2010, I have been busy raising and caring for my young and growing family which consists of three children, all of whom are boys. Although I am not employed outside of the home, I find that I am extremely busy in managing the household and fulfilling the needs of my family. I am currently pursuing a passion project which I am documenting in a written blog which can be found at www.myfamilybike.com. This project should continue for the duration of the year, and involves my experiences and reactions to living in our modern society without the use of a car. To facilitate this experiment I am acquiring a European-style family cargo bicycle to travel and commute with on a daily basis. My goal in this project is to improve my health and wellness, gain greater appreciating for the luxuries and conveniences which I have, and gain greater cultural awareness, and increase social awareness of bicycle culture.
