As the Suspension Team Lead, I oversaw all design and manufacturing for the suspension of our car, whilst ensuring effective team communication to stay within a strict time limit and financial budget. This role helped enhance my leadership, and mentorship skills, and how to work within a close knit team.One of my main projects while on the team was the design, testing, and manufacturing of the rear bell crank. This project enabled me to advance my SOLIDWORKS modeling skills as well run unique static force simulations. I created G-code for parts and personally CNC milled the novel bell crank once the design was finalized.

One of my main roles at Garmin was to design test fixtures for their upcoming products. These test fixtures had to be reliable, manufacturable, repeatable, and easy to use. One of the challenges I enjoyed with designing these test fixtures was trying to find innovative ways to do a variety of different tests with one fixture. Another role I had involved product testing; I wrote, followed, and executed test plans in a diligent manner. Repeatability between tests was paramount. Test results were detailed in reports that I filed into the test plans. The culmination of my internship at Garmin was the assignment and ownership of a design project, which could be CNC machined, 3D-printed, or injection moulded.

While at Basecamp Innovations Ltd. I covered the full scope from concept, design, manufacturing, testing and documentation. My main project was working on a mountain rescue device. Some of the tasks I did for the device/project include: • Product design• Designing and manufacturing test fixtures• Converting Solidworks files into machine language using CAMWORKS and G-code• Prototype manufacturing on CNC mill and Lathe• Conduct testing (drop and slow pull)• Conduct SOLIDWORKS static and motion simulations• Create extensive scripts using MATLAB for compliant mechanisms
