I'm a low intensity trainee psychological wellbeing practitioner. My role involves assessing and treating clients who present with mild to moderate common mental health conditions. I deliver evidence based NICE recommended treatments based upon CBT principles.As part of my role, I also have the intention of conducting in-service research with colleagues.

Within my Previous position at Westlands inpatient Unit, I worked with women presenting with a wide range of complex mental and physical health issues. My role as an activity co-ordinator involved me working within a multidisciplinary team and autonomously to provide care and support for patients in crisis, and the various stages of their recovery. Key elements of my role involved working in a person-centred manner to implement a diverse activity timetable, including a range of therapeutic interventions delivered both in groups and on an individual basis, and contributing to the assessment of a patient and their individual needs. All of which supported patients to develop and maintain their skills, promote recovery and independence. To achieve this, I undertook assessments of patient’s activities of daily living skills and mental wellbeing, this involved using assessments such as the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) and feeding back this information to nursing staff and multidisciplinary team meetings, to help with providing a holistic approach for patient care. Additionally, I accurately documented information relating to a patient and their care in their notes, following Trust policy and legislation.

My role was to mentor ex offenders, assisting them with formulating and following their action plans, and helping themselves to achieve their own goals.Skills used:Accurate note takingsuccessfully using outcome measuresmaintaining a confident demeanourbeing efficient and organisedsuccessfully using interpersonal skillsusing persuasion skills

Within this role, I have been working on a pilot study, regarding the student experiences and satisfaction of BME (Black and Ethnic Minority) students within the Faculty of Science and Engineering at The University of Hull. To complete this, I have produced empirically supported focus group questions, and subsequently ran a focus group, and analysed the following transcription.I have also written a short report detailing key findings from the focus group, and proposed recommendations for improvements and changes for the main study which will be run at a later time.It is expected that my work will be published following the completion of the main study.

My role was to produce a literature review, supporting a 'theory of change' for a parenting programme that Family Links provides. A shortened version of this document will be published, and made available to the public via the Family Links website.
