I am thrilled to have joined Hiossen, Inc. as a Corporate Trainer in April 2024! My path to the training and development field, however, was forged through a variety of experiences over the past 4 years.When I was in undergrad, I took a seemingly random part-time job that ended up significantly impacting my professional path. As a Copywriter/Digital Marketing Assistant, I crafted search engine-optimized content and managed Google Ads to drive internet traffic and sales. While I enjoyed seeing the results of my work, my favorite part of this position was analyzing client data over time to ultimately make the most impactful decisions going forward. I found myself more excited about this work in technology than I thought I’d be, but once I’d earned my Bachelor’s from UMBC, I left it behind to go into teaching; what I had studied for. During my time as a teacher for Baltimore City Public Schools, I planned and implemented effective lessons, communicated with families and leadership about student progress, and got to share my love of learning. However, I was surprised to notice that I was again leaning into the analytical aspects of my job. Assessing student needs and progress, and making data informed decisions to ensure the most effective lesson delivery for my students became a highlight for me. Thus, I began to look for opportunities to combine data-analysis and technology with my passion for learning.Before joining Hiossen, I worked as a Training Coordinator at a law office, where I combined my pedagogical knowledge with digital tools to design and implement tailored training programs and webinars for clients. My work also included marketing these initiatives through social media advertisements, newsletters, and SEO practices, and ultimately assessing their impact through data analysis to inform future program enhancements. My journey, marked by a commitment to education, innovative learning design, and data-driven decision-making, has paved the way for a promising future in training and development, especially as I continue to pursue my Master’s degree in Learning Design & Technology.
