I am developing a line of social enterprise pickles called Maize & Brine for the Sustainable Food Program. The pickles are made with student-grown produce from the UM Campus Farm, processed by students at a third-party pickling company, and sold by and for students at the UM Farm Stand. I have experience interviewing value-added companies and universities to learn about best practices, conducting product market research through a survey sent to 7,000+ people, hiring a graphic designer for the logo, collaborating with directors of the UM Campus Farm and the Brinery, and eventually writing a business plan for the UM Sustainable Food Program.

Work with 5+ Ann Arbor businesses to improve sustainability in areas such as Benefit Cooperation certification, localizing supply chain, and improving water efficiency. Work in groups of 6-8 students focused on a specific businesses, communicating with owners, suppliers, and Ann Arbor public works to propose action plans that will reduce carbon footprint.

Raised $590 in grant money, handle club dues, and manage club budget. Coordinated with executive board members to plan consulting education sessions, networking events, increase our business outreach, and improve club culture/community.

For a month of summer 2022, I traveled to Marrakech, Morocco to intern for High Atlas Foundation, a nonprofit committed to sustainable development, and an organization I had been doing research for during the previous school year. Among a wide range of projects, HAF strengthens organic agriculture, clean water access, interfaith communication, and human development across the country.I participated in Moroccan Arabic (Darija) classes, philosophy classes by president Yossef Ben-Meir, and did research and writing for two grants to allow HAF to continue its mission. I visited schools, plant nurseries, and women's cooperatives that HAF was involved in, and wrote about the experiences in weekly journals.
