Following a long career in climate communication, organisational change and cultural transformation with numerous corporate clients and NGOs in Australia, I have in the past 18 months shifted my means of communication to the Arts as I see its potential for more effective, more creative and longer lasting cultural change.My plays - both with live music - are original and life-affirming, foregrounding women’s perspectives and experiences. They provide an entirely different approach to addressing gender inequity, which I see as the root cause of the major problems facing humankind in the 21st century. I have a deep-seated faith in the goodness of human beings and a sincere belief in our ability to rebuild, now we’re witnessing the failure of old models, values and ways of thinking.Vegas Nerve was originally a Sydney-based band but with my move to Scotland and then London, the vehicle has morphed into this gig theatre collective. Our aim is to create unique, multi-sensory experiences that speak to the current malaise of our times yet leave people feeling buoyed and uplifted. Vegas Nerve Productions are strongly feminist and invite their audiences to break from convention, to walk the world unencumbered by the weight of limited, outdated expectations, and to appreciate and express their own uniqueness. With this and literally dozens of corporate clients under the banners of Stormlight Consulting (since 2004) and Out Of Your Mind (since 2013), it's thanks to the brilliant people at Lend Lease, Nestle, Mars, RBA, Deutsche etc, that I can go the next step.While my focus then was on bringing the best out of Executive Leadership Teams, Senior Management Teams and athletes who want to "step out of the noise" in order to perform at their best in high pressure scenarios, my work has shifted to Gender Equity and designing arts-based engagements (theatre) that by-pass the conventional approaches (and resistance) and create uncommon conversations.
