Plans, organizes, and directs comprehensive, effective program development and management for the Operations team on behalf of United Through Reading to meet organizational goals as reflected in the strategic plan. This includes, but is not limited to recruiting, training, and managing an Operations team for program implementation; building relationships with military leaders; and maintaining positive visibility and interfacing with the community at large. Assists and trains Program Directors, and Program Managers with developing and implementing strategic plans.

Works with the United Through Reading Program Managers to coordinate national program campaigns, oversee volunteer recruitment, and establish, expand, and support United Through Reading programs throughout the United States Military.

Facilitated the expansion, establishment, and support of United Through Reading programs for West Coast commands of the US Navy and Coast Guard.

Created the USO Northwest Mobile Canteen Program to bring USO programs and services to over 40,000 service members per year.Created and fostered community awareness and support for the USO’s mission. Planned and executed over 100 Mobile Canteen events each year. Recruited, scheduled, trained, led, and awarded volunteers. Prepared and delivered presentations to local military and service organizations toprocure in-kind and financial donations, highlight the USO’s mission, and recruitvolunteers. Maintained Mobile Canteen inventory and vehicle readiness.

Managed Operation USO Care Package and With You All the Way programs. Built and managed annual budgets for programs. Redesigned programs as necessary to serve more people on the same budget. Managed and delivered on program requests from USO Centers, Family Readiness Groups,service members, and military family members. Acted as liaison between USO, Inc and partner organizations. Created new programs to meet the timely needs of the military community.

Created the Patrick Henry Legacy Program from the ground up, a program that distributed educational materials to schools and libraries across the nation and financially supported historical sites.Managed all program communications with students, teachers, and donors. Acted as a liaison with historical and governmental organizations. Created program and promotional materials, website content, and direct mail. Initiated the Center’s admittance to Road to Revolution Heritage Trail Committee.
