This includes contacting and interviewing local government representatives as well as persons associated with the Site to determine the current and historical uses of the Site. Developing these reports also includes conducting on-Site inspections by a physical walk-through of the considered Site.Performing Phase II soil and groundwater sampling while overseeing geoprobe-drilling operations. As well as completing soil vapor intrusion sampling. Completion of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER safety training.

The goal of this study is to determine the trends and patterns of nitrogen fluxes due to storm events in agriculture watersheds.Finding these patterns and trends are done by using the Matlab program to determine correlations with other variables such as the seasons.

Springfield, Illinois Area

Worked in the Bureau of Water specifically in Drinking Water, checking for the necessary requirements in the annual Consumer Confidence Reports from community water systems. Spent time entering the levels of different nutrients found within these water systems into the EPA's drinking water computer system. Also learned how to take and analyze water samples from water systems. Within this program the group of interns we're taken out together on field trips to large companies, such as Marathon, within the state that do work with the IEPA. These field trips would show us how these companies functioned on a basic level as well as describe the EPA's roll within the company.
