I am a Security Architect / Compliance Officer at zapEHR, a startup under MassLight that provides electronic health records solutions. I have a Bachelor of Science in Computing Security from Rochester Institute of Technology, where I also published a paper on vehicle-to-vehicle communication security in IEEE. My core competencies include SOC 2, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Machine Learning algorithms.In my current role, I am responsible for developing security alerts and triage steps for security incidents, as well as acting as the compliance officer for SOC 2 and ONC certifications. I leverage Machine Learning algorithms to predict behavior in data for more accurately tuned alerts. I also work as a Teaching Assistant for edX's cybersecurity BootCamp program, where I help students learn the fundamentals and best practices of defensive and offensive cybersecurity. I am passionate about applying my skills and knowledge to secure and improve the healthcare industry, and I value collaboration, innovation, and diversity in my work. My main passion is being a successful leader, one that gives each person on my team the specific tools they need to provide accurate equity in our group. Being a good leader is leveling the playing field for everyone, whatever they might need, in order to strive for a successful and cohesive workplace. From there, I have learned more from working with others than I ever did research alone.
