I am responsible for running the Content Department at our Inbound Marketing agency, ensuring we deliver strategic and high quality content across mediums for our clients.

I strategise content plans for clients, create and manage the freelancer database, and more. Content Strategy (client strategies and keeping up to date)- Build and manage a rich content and editorial calendar that attracts a qualified audience to the owned properties (including blog posts, whitepapers, eBooks, reports, webinars, infographics, etc.)- Ideate, build and help achieve content marketing strategies that communicate and achieve client objectives- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and customer challenges in order to build a more effective editorial calendar.- Keeping up to date with content marketing and inbound marketing trends and best practice to ensure the delivery of sound content strategies to the client- Facilitate workshops with clients to translate their brand messaging to their buyer persona and buyer’s journey- Ensure content strategy is in line with the client’s automation strategy: operational, recommendation as to which content would be used for lead nurturing Editorial responsibilities: - Content Development (copy writing and quality control)- Providing feedback to other contributors, and editing other writers’ content.- Manage and contribute to client and internal content development- Editing and re-writing articles, some of which may be rejected or returned to the writer for revision- Understanding and complying with media law and industry ethical guidelines- Selecting content offers for each quarter- Content Strategy implementation and optimisation - Optimising content for search engines and lead generation- Managing writing staff and freelance feature writers- Sending out briefs to writers, which can include word count, deadline, fee and writing style- Audit content strategies using a wide range of SEO, content analysis, and social media tools- Help recruit and manage top freelance contributors (writers, designers, editors, etc.)

I pitch and write freelance feature articles for a variety of publications on topics ranging from light columns, to narrative journalism around a variety of topics, to feminist issues in the workplace, and more.

It has brought 35.86% of our audience to the website over the past year. o I also joined Ravelry, a patterning website relevant to our content. This brings in 22.9% of our page impressions. • Engaging with our online community across our platforms• Managing campaigns for clients across our website and social media platforms• Managing and loading content on our website using our CMS (content management system) • Ensuring content is created to best optimise for SEO (search engine optimisation)• Compiling and writing weekly newsletters (this requires a basic knowledge of HTML coding)• Writing topical and relevant content for our website • Management: Ensuring content is produced, subbed, and pictures provided by the design team. • Conceptualising and producing features: pitching ideas, finding people for stories (especially for ‘Challenges’ and ‘Real Lives’); interviewing both real people and experts; and writing in Marie Claire style and tone• Managing and producing campaigns (such as the annual Marie Claire Naked Campaign): liaising and forming a strong relationship with charity organisations; approaching celebrities; setting up shoot (booking photographer, makeup artist, location); compiling copy (stats, interviews)• Assisting in the production flow of features: coordinating and liaising with art team with regards to photographers, makeup artists and stylists for shoots; and assist in following up with high-res images, layouts and necessary copy-changes for repro • Ensuring features and campaigns are completed within the budget of the magazine and on deadline • Creating digital presence: brainstorming and producing online copy for Marie Claire’s website (MarieClaire.co.za) • Managing interns (includes commissioning and editing work)• Proofreading features and signing off on proofs• Assisting in cover lines • Commissioning copy for sections that fall under my responsibility; editing the work; and if necessary, finding new journalists to write that copy• Attending events on behalf of Marie Claire; representing the magazine; and making connections and meeting people

I take and edit in-depth videos on the readers of Media24's Women's Interest Division publications. Namely, Fairlady, Sarie, Idees/ Ideas, Home/ Tuis, Tuin/ Garden, Leef, and Shape magazines. These are a collection of interviews on our readers' likes, reading habits, interests and so on. These videos are produced for the Insights Division; the research section of the company.I am also in charge of all online activity for the Insights Division. This includes survey loading, creating a newsletter, and planning the implementation of new online strategies.

I periodically write freelance articles for Fairlady magazine on a variety of topics.

I am the digital intern for Woman360, a subsidiary company of Media24. I assist the various publications (Fairlady, Sarie, Psychologies, Lèèf, Your Parenting.com, Shape and Fit Pregnancy magazines) with their social networking (Facebook and Twitter), content loading, and comment moderating. I also write a blog for Fairlady.

I occasionally write freelance articles for South Africa's eminent weekly news publication.

I am given minor articles to write, and help the more senior journalists do research.

I have been given editing work by Jeanne-Marie Viljoen, such as editing books. I have also written text for a healthy living website.

I worked as an unpaid intern at the Pretoria News, generating stories for them and generally working as a journalist, learning all the time.
