As an hourly manager, I oversee daily operations and ensure customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and addressing any issues or complaints. Additionally, I supervise servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food and beverage service. I also assist with training new staff members.

I aided in the planning and execution of events to aid Make-A-Wish Arizona in our mission of creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. I supported the Internal Events Director on the organization of the silent auction for the 2023 Wish Ball as well as the Wish Ball itself. I attended meetings and events for local school student councils and other community partners who hosted events to raise money for Make-A-Wish Arizona.

Aiding in the planning and execution of the 2023 Wish Ball for approximately 800 attendees with the goal of raising $3.4 million to aid Make-A-Wish Arizona in our mission of creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

In this position, I coordinate efforts from multiple resources on campus to help educate and bring attention to all facets of student health and wellness. I am increasing visibility for student health programs on campus, coordinating health and wellness events, and interacting with on-campus resources for events. In every aspect of this role, I am cultivating a culture of acceptance and education..

In this role I work with the wish granting department completing hands-on work to help create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. This role allows me to work with a team of experienced professionals and learn from their time in the non-profit sector.

I served as a camp counselor for high school students involved in student councils across Arizona. During this program, my responsibility is to provide them with tools to build leadership and steps to better organize events that will serve their schools and communities. Each summer since I graduated high school I have had the opportunity to work with approximately 20 students and 1 or 2 senior staff members to ensure safety during the camp. A big part of this job was allowing the students to reach their own conclusions about what leadership means to them and allowing them to share ideas for change among themselves. I served as a guide for the campers instead of someone telling them one correct way to accomplish a goal. Each summer I have seen these students build lasting friendships, gain confidence, and make incredible changes in their own communities which motivates me to return and serve them as long as I am able to do so.

I coordinated the planning and execution of the gala to raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation through my sorority, Chi Omega at Arizona State University. At this event over $44,000 was raised and over 400 people were in attendance. During the event, I and other representatives both from my sorority and from the Make A Wish Foundation spoke explaining the history and impact of these events and fundraisers over the years. My sorority was able to grant the wish of the Make A Wish Kid that we had chosen ahead of time and grant additional wishes with the money raised. This event gave me the opportunity to collaborate with advisors, my executive board, other members of my sorority, and a representative from Make A Wish Arizona. Organizing and executing such a huge event successfully gave me confidence in my ability to communicate and plan thoroughly.

I conducted research for Dr. Magaña’s updated textbook including information on Arizona border politics and worked with her publishing agency to aid in the rollout of her textbook.
