Samara worked in the Marketing & Partnerships Team at the St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra/Goulburn. She focused on developing and implementing marketing strategies for the Society's events, shops and major fundraising campaigns such as the Doorknock Appeal, Canberra Community Sleepout and CEO Sleepout. This involved coordinating digital marketing and traditional marketing strategies such as web advertising, print advertising, radio, tv and social media.Samara developed traditional marketing and social media marketing (mainly Facebook and Instagram advertising) for the Vinnies shops. She also created internal messaging for sales and fundraising campaigns. This resulted in significant increases in revenue through the shops to better support the good works of the Society.During campaign time Samara liaises with the media ensuring that the Canberra community is aware of the good work of the Society and the impact that the Society is having in it's efforts around homelessness and crisis support.Samara has an active role in the digital marketing working group who provide content and direction on the Society's national social media platforms. She also manages the Society's Canberra/Goulburn social media accounts, creating content, engaging with fans and moderating.Samara has developed and implemented marketing strategies for the following events/appeals:- Vinnies February Doorknock Appeal- Vinnies CEO Sleepout- Vinnies Winter Appeal- Canberra Community Sleepout- Vinnies Christmas Appeal- Gift Box CampaignSamara has also worked to improve the Society's visibility by managing the creation of video content, photographic content and written content.

Samara was a writer with HerCanberra for five years, contributing on various local topics.

Big Ink Magazine was first founded in March 2013 by Samara, who at the time saw there was a gap in the market for a locally produced magazine that focused on the art, culture and fashion found within Canberra.The first issue was released digitally in April 2013. It continued as a digital monthly publication for 12 months in which it then made the leap to print in April 2014 and changed to a quarterly publication.Big Ink Magazine has grown an impressive readership of art and fashion loving Canberrans who are interested in the hidden stories Canberra has to offer.

Responsible for:- Drafting Ministerial Briefings and Ministerial Correspondence.- Inputting into key policy discussions about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education.- Drafting policy papers about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Action Plan.- Drafting content for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Action Plan Annual Report.

This was a temporary acting role.Responsible for:- Maintaining data and information on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education on Department Intranet.- Coordinate and collate Indigenous Education Consultative Body responses to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Action Plan for the 2011 Annual Report.
