• Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Reading Hospital’s 4,000 PC estate. Consolidate and replace end-of-life servers with a new ESX Host based Virtual Server Farm plus associated Disk Storage and Backup. Following on was the migration to the new farm of 107 third-party complex applications and databases with feeds from many-multiples of sources and departments within the Hospital.• Civil Nuclear client Westinghouse as part of a US$10M programme to to install a new-to-site network and PC Win7 implementation for their 1,200 strong client base.• Building infrastructure projects at BAE Samlesbury. Site-wide factory and office building moves, commissioning, decommissioning with secure, secret-high and manufacturing network involvement.• Migration to Win7 for BAE Systems Board at Stirling Square• Installation of Microsoft Office 2010 onto 15,000 devices for BAE Systems. Quality was my focus managing escalations, VIP support, service issues and network performance as well as setting up the dedicated help desk queue and team of support professionals, up to level 3 support.• Implementation of Microsoft System Centre Config Manager for BAE Systems. 26,000 devices had the software remotely installed at 80 UK sites. I managed the purchase, installation and delivery of 56 distribution point servers for remote sites, all commissioned into production and business as usual within 13 weeks. I received a third President’s Award for my successes and high achievements. • Email migration project for BAE Systems, covering migration of 22,000 email accounts across 17 UK sites. The migration involved installation of Microsoft Outlook client with Microsoft Exchange servers at a Central CSC data-centre, also on client-site data-centres. My direct Project responsibility was the client VIP and Board Level community. The overall Programme value was £10M. With my business partner Aitch Liddle, we also became owner / operators of Sea Trade Ltd, doing business as Blue Island Divers in St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. The business was both a BSAC Centre of Excellence and a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre, based out of the luxury Mega-Yacht Marina named Crown Bay Marina, on the South Side of St. Thomas one of the United States Virgin Islands (USVI). This was particularly challenging, operating a United States S-Corporation as United Kingdom Citizens. Many hurdles were put forward by the US Embassy in London, yet our Business Plan was resilient, and we overcame all hurdles to run the business as a Retail Outlet in Crown Bay Marina, also hosting our Dive Boat named "Island Diver" in a berth directly at the front of our shop. Day-trip tailored diving charters and associated retail were our mainstay business elements. Only the silver-haired-few will remember the hardware circa 1989-1993? IBM's PS/2, AT, XT-286, and Compaq in second place market leaders. Some of us were even allowed / assigned the coveted 'transportable' rather than 'portable' PC, with dual 3.5" FDD, no HDD, and a very cool 640x480 Orange Plasma display. Huge, Heavy! Show less
