My journey as an intern in sales in the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai was transformative, eye-opening, and educational. From my first day, I was immersed in the complex world of sales strategy, customer service, and relationship building that is essential for successful hotel management.As a sales intern, my primary duties included communication with existing and potential guests, creating and managing sales reports, maintaining accurate records of Proposals, contracts, and monitoring market trends to ensure that the hotel was competitive in its sales strategy. I quickly realized that sales is not just about making deals but requires a deep understanding of customer needs and providing solutions that meet those needs.A significant aspect of my internship was learning about various sales techniques, such as upselling, cross-selling, and bundling. Which taught me how much of a difference a small change in a pitch could makeAs my internship progressed, I gained more responsibility and autonomy in my work. I had the chance to manage my projects, attend team meetings, and represent the company externally. These experiences allowed me to develop leadership skills, including decision-making, communication, and critical thinking.Perhaps the most significant impact of my internship was the exposure to the inner workings of the hospitality industry.
