Description:My key project at Mott MacDonald entails the construction of the Kusile Power Station Water Treatment Plant. Once fully functional, the water treatment plant will provide demineralized water to the six coal fired boilers producing 4800MW of electricity, making Kusile one of the largest coal fired power stations in the world. As a project planner I am involved in planning key activities on a daily bases to allow for systematic coordination to achieve completion on time and within budget.Key Responsibilities:• Recording of key events and delays• Identifying and preventing forthcoming delays• Updating of S-curves and variance reports• Recording of key quantities or key performance indicators• Planning of piping, civil, structural and mechanical works• Developing and updating of the Primavera P6 working programmes• Project forecasting and recovery planning• Monitoring material and labour resource allocation/utilization• Compiling of daily and weekly reports

My key project at SRK Consulting was the Nacala Corridor Project which was the construction of a rail link between the Vale coal mine in Tete and the Port of Nacala in Mozambique. The section of the railway where I was stationed, crosses approximately 136.2 kilometres of rural countryside, along the Southern Region of Malawi. My role as a planner was to assist in the overall construction and planning of bridges, culverts earthworks and rail activities.Responsibilities• Planning and tracking of construction works• Develop and update time-distance/ time-chainage diagrams• Updating of s-curves and variance reports• Recording and analysis of key quantities or key performance indicators• Developing and updating of the Primavera P6 working programme• Project forecasting and recovery planning• Develop / Identify Work Breakdown Structures for project schedules• Compile and contribute to weekly and monthly reports• Measure performance against requirements and provide feedback and support• Promote the company’s standardised planning practices and reporting systems
