I am fortunate to transition and work at Global Affairs Canada, Infectious Disease & Pandemic Response bureau. I am currently working at the forefront of international pandemic response as a policy analyst. -Analyzed Financial Intermediary Funds (FIFs) globally to support Global Affairs Canada in establishing the Pandemic Preparedness and Response (PPR) FIF-Conducted stakeholder engagement on behalf of Global Affairs Canada with Civil Society Organizations and like-minded countries to support Canada’s positions in the FIF negotiations -Supported Canadian Delegation at Geneva negotiate Human Rights Council 50 (HRC 50) resolution to bring forth resolutions on Access to Medicine, Discrimination and Violence Against Women and Girls, and Female Genital Mutilation, to name a few-Engaged with technical experts in Canada and globally to support Canada’s efforts in Health Systems Strengthening -Communicated with internal stakeholders to better understand Canada’s efforts to support Research & Development in Neglected Diseases, Emerging Diseases and Sexual and Reproductive Health.

Due to our success as a consulting team as part of our Capstone Project at Munk for Global Affairs Canada, I was offered a position as a policy analyst at MSF. The job was a unique opportunity as it allowed me to explore my interest in Food Systems. I believe that nutrition is the basis of health, and if it is not for our food environment, we won’t afford our current health. -Analyzed MSF project portfolio over the past decade-Prepared project pipelines for MSF-Provided policy support to different geographical desks and programming teams. -Communicated briefing notes on various topics spanning different aspects of the food system.-Provided and prepared event recommendations for Minister Gould-Supported creating a website to deliver MSF products. -Prepared correspondence on behalf of the minister.

This is a very unique institution because it has two main roles. It is a health economics research lab that belongs to the Paris School of Economics. It is also a consulting arm for APHP (Association of Public Hospitals of Paris). Consequently, one must balance the objectives of conducting research for publications and translating the knowledge for rapid application in public hospitals. -Grant application for comparative research to compare healthcare funding between France, Quebec and Ontario. -Worked on different mericies to assess different Health Technologies. -Worked on Risk Adjustments and Quality based payments for APHP-Evaluated implementation of doctolib (software that manages booking physicians online)-Proposed unified queues for elective surgery to reduce wait times. -Participated in writing a report that will be submitted to the European Committee discussing differences in health technology assessments between European nations-Participated in designing Discrete Choice Experiments (DCE) in an attempt to balance trade offs -Proposed different decrementally cost effective strategies to manage increasing health care costs. -An analysis of the obstacles and potential drivers for acceptance of decremental efficacy using a political economy approach of stakeholders’ perspectives-Worked on developing a toolbox will provide specific methodological and policy guidance concerning the evaluation and implementation of candidate technologies -Discussed potential ways to queue patient access to ICU beds based on statistical value of life and ethical principles
