The HertsCam Network is an independent teacher-led, not-for-profit organisation committed to educational transformation through support for teacher leadership.HertsCam promotes teacher leadership through programmes that support teachers in leading innovation and the development of practice, with experienced teachers facilitating school-based groups leading to collaborative development.At a more detailed level, HertsCam exists to improve teaching and learning in schools around the world and so enhance the life chances of young people. In my first three years as a primary school teacher, I planned, prepared, and delivered lessons across various subjects in the curriculum, such as literacy, numeracy, science, and the arts. I assessed student progress, provided feedback, and adapted my teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of my students. I also communicated regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and behaviour, and collaborated with colleagues on curriculum development and student support.As the Head of UKS2 Maths and whole school PE, I oversaw the standards and delivery of teaching in these subjects. This involved developing and implementing effective teaching strategies, ensuring that lessons were engaging and met educational standards, and providing support and training to other teachers in these areas. I also monitored the progress of students in Maths and PE, identified areas for improvement, and worked to enhance the overall quality of education in these subjects.

In my role as an outdoor activity instructor, I planned, organised, and led a variety of outdoor activities, ensuring they were safe, engaging, and educational for participants. I tailored activities to meet the diverse needs and skill levels of individuals, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. I also maintained equipment, ensured adherence to safety protocols, and provided first aid when necessary.In addition to these responsibilities, I led the training of new staff, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles. As a duty manager, I oversaw daily operations, addressed any issues that arose, and ensured a smooth and efficient workflow. Leading a team of 18 instructors, I coordinated schedules, provided guidance and support, and worked to maintain high standards in the delivery of all activities. My role required strong leadership, effective communication, and a commitment to creating a positive and enriching experience for both staff and participants.
