In my current role I am responsible for the following:- Certifying the product in line with the product certification procedure- Maintaining product certification and approval via regular audits- Setting-up procedures for testing, to include the awareness of the need for periodic re-calibration of test equipment- Carrying out tests on electronic equipment in accordance with test instructions, using specified test equipment- Carrying out fault-finding procedures on electronic equipment- Keeping test records and reporting faults for rectification- Ensuring manufacturing test times are met- Checking and completing all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack- Maintaining to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality- Ensuring compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process- Maintaining a safe working environment and a good housekeeping policy- Communicating best practice to other team members

Primary duties include the maintenance and rectification of Aircraft Assisted Escape Systems, Weapon Suspension Equipment, Gun Systems, Weapon Loading/Unloading and Loading/Unloading of Eurofighter Role Equipment. Secondary duties include maintenance, testing and upkeep of specialist Armament Equipment.• Fundamental in the procurement of trade specific tooling for XI Squadron in a cost effective manner showing commercial awareness of both costs and durability of various tool suppliers. This minimised wastage and spiralling costs due to inefficiency of equipment and facilitated a substantial under spend. • Helped improve the efficiency of the squadron by submitting a Continuous Improvement Form (CIF) for better tool control, this not only prevented a potential loose article due to missing tools but also helped the squadron reduce maintenance man-hours for the particular tasks required by having the appropriate tools available for the job. • Participated in daily aircrew debriefing of weapons systems-related aircraft problems both pre and post-flight. This involved the organizing of a team to carry out fault diagnosis and subsequent follow up action resulting in a broader knowledge base for junior colleagues and readiness and ability to react to similar circumstances in the future.As a first line Weapon Technician I am responsible for carrying out investigation and rectification of mechanical and electrical faults, installation and removal of aircraft components, electrical testing of weapons systems, installation and removal of safety – critical components containing energetics (ejection seats and canopy components) Loading and unloading of live weapons as well as the completion of vital stage checks mandated by maintenance procedures; followed by the signing of all associated legal and airworthiness paperwork.
