I joined LDA Design as part of the architecture team to provide support on architecture-focused projects. Working alongside a diverse team of professionals I gained experience on projects at all work stages and across a range of sectors, including urban design, landscape, development & regeneration, renewable energy and planning. This gave me applicable experience across multiple strands of the construction sector, encompassing a wide range of LDA Design's work.As a member of the design team I was responsible for drafting architectural drawings, creating and updating planning documents, liaising with clients and other organisations who were part of the project, managing my time to ensure submission deadlines were met, and participating in internal and external CPD programmes to enhance my workplace experience.

Alongside my work at LDA Design myself and a partner were involved in designing a new 3 storey dwelling in Ilfracombe, Devon. Situated in the large garden of a detached Edwardian house the new build had to respect its historic surroundings whilst occupying a narrow infill plot. My responsibilities included liaising with clients and planners, undertaking site visits, working up the design proposal, creating architectural drawings and drafting, finalising and submitting the planning application, as well as monitoring the proposal through the planning process to its eventual approval.
