Communications, Marketing, And Safety Intern
Seattle, Washington, United States
In this role, I worked directly under the Director of Communications and Marketing as well as the Head of Safety. My two largest projects over the summer were creating a Safety Dashboard and an Investment Report. The Safety Dashboard deliverable was an interactive document that would be used to observe high-level safety KPIs over time. This project allowed me to engage with safety leaders at operating companies to discover what would be beneficial for them, strengthening my creativity, problem-solving abilities, and interviewing skills. I gained experience in internal communications and marketing through the Investment Report Project, creating a document that engagingly depicted where money was being reinvested back into the operating companies. This project developed my ability to be aware of subtle nuances in non-verbal communication and my attention to detail. Beyond those two tasks, I worked on numerous smaller projects that were valuable to my learning. I assisted in the onboarding of new software systems, rewrote job applications to make them more appealing to our ideal candidate, gathered safety data, created a safety incident tracker, and updated the company's websites.
