The Canadian Stratospheric Balloon Experiment Design Challenge (CAN-SBX) is a competition for Canadian post-secondary students to design and test a small scientific experiment to fly on board a high-altitude balloon provided by the Canadian Space Agency.

As a Duty Manager, my responsibility includes: Proactively managing responses to facility emergencies, executing efficient protocols for first-aid incidents and thefts, and ensuring a swift and effective crisis resolution strategy.  Spearheading comprehensive support for seven distinct departments, addressing security and safety concerns with a proactive and solution-driven approach, ensuring a secure and compliant operational environment.  Skillfully facilitating a wide range of programs, bookings, events, and tours to patrons and new hires.  Exhibiting adept conflict resolution skills, effectively resolving and de-escalating patron complaints while maintaining a courteous demeanor. I have also been recognized for outstanding communication and de-escalation skills through positive feedback from both patrons and supervisors.

Collaborating with lifeguard co-workers to maintain and improve the highest safety, health and customer services of the YMCA facility and pool, using First Aid CPR C & AED knowledge and experience. While creating a safe environment for patrons, I have gain numerous real life experiences in leading and assisting with mild to critical life threatening situations at the YMCA. This job experience also allowed me to enhance and apply my skills in leadership, time management, working under pressure and customer support. Throughout the position, I have: Responded and handled mild to critical first aid emergencies.  Mentored new staff on policies, first aid treatments and emergency responses.  Performed water tests, administrative tasks, daily-tasks and assisted with contamination incidents.

As a Materials and Geotechnical Technician, I perform soil testing in laboratories, collect and measure materials from sites. In my position, I test for plasticity, moisture content, sulfate concentration and perform standard proctor. Further responsibilities include:- Pile monitoring at construction sites.- Concrete, compaction, and asphalt testing at construction sites. Preparation of fieldmemos and materials test result summaries.- Occasionally traveling to various sites in Canada.

I have worked simultaneously with the YMCA Calgary at Rocky Ridge as a slide attendant and lifeguard. As a slide attendant, I make sure the pool is organized, clean, safe and fun for all patron ages. In this role, I have improved greatly my customer service, first aid skills and organization skill throughout my experience at the YMCA. First aid skills include treating minor cuts, attending code 1 major medical situation, etc.

• Administer program execution and merchandising of products.• Inspect, handle, and prepare deli and produce products with exceptional customer satisfaction.• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives.• Order and receive stock by company inventory control procedures as required.• Process department shrink.
