Achievements and Responsibilities:Established and lead a multi-disciplinary team to streamline patient flow, management and outcome, increasing ward productivity by doubling the number of medical patients and reducing length of in-patient stay.Analysed regional infant mortality and the evidence basis for related healthcare services, generating a report and presenting findings to healthcare commissioners to develop potential new strategies.
Part of the editorial team for the national public health training newsletter, writing an article as well as publishing the newsletterPresented at a school careers day, providing an interactive session informing pupils aged 15-16 on careers in healthcare.

I worked within the Emergency department as well as a broad range of medical specialities, within a team of doctors managing the healthcare needs of patients with a wide variety of conditions.Achievements and responsibilities:Consistently evaluated above the expected level for my experience in key areas including professionalism, time management and communication skills. Presented at a number of medical meetings, including a regional meeting of doctors, providing updates on clinical practice. Rapid adaptability to new environments and cultures and differing healthcare system and medical practices.Took greater responsibility in the decision making process to determine the management of both inpatients and outpatients.Covered the hospital out of hours during the evening, weekend and night, working primarily independently, though also in a team, to manage acute deterioration in patients.

Provided the initial medical assessment and determining the treatment needs of patients. Working to government targets to manage patients within the required four-hour timeframe, requiring rapid evaluation and decision-making. Took direct responsibility for the admission or discharge of patients. Assessed and managed patients with both minor and major conditions as well as trauma and resuscitation.

Worked within a supervised role in a variety of medical and surgical specialties, gaining exposure to the hospital and healthcare envirnonment. Managed a large patient load within a team of doctors at various levels, including organising investigations, treatments and discharges for patients.Part of an on-call rota, covering wards out of hours.Set up and administered weekly teaching for students, involving presentations and group work. Involved in clinical governance, performing two reviews into medical practice to improve the provision of care.
