SAINT Security Suite was the first to provide integrated vulnerability assessment and penetration testing capabilities.My duties as CTO have included:• Establishing the company’s technical vision and leading all aspects of the company’s technology development• Maintaining SAINT’s standing as an Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) for PCI DSS compliance• Interfacing with partners and resellers who wish to integrate SAINT into their own solutions• Providing engineering and architecture oversight for the SAINT suite of tools• Design and deployment of new vulnerability assessment and penetration testing capabilities in SAINT products to keep up with a constantly changing threat landscape• Development of new software features and functions• Design and deployment of SAINT’s SaaS offerings (SAINTcloud)• Speaking at industry events and conferences• Administration and contingency planning for internal IT infrastructure, corporate web site, and cloud servers

Continuing on the same contract with the Single Agency Manager (SAM) for Pentagon Information Technology Services, I was promoted to the Senior Security Auditor. Here, I was a key force behind the proactive defense of the Pentagon’s information systems in my role of supervisor of network vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for the Army, Air Force and OSD networks. This position introduced me to vulnerability scanning and penetration testing, using a combination of existing tools and programs I wrote myself.

With SETA, I worked on-site at the Pentagon for the Single Agency Manager (SAM) for Pentagon Information Technology Services. This position was my first exposure to computer and network security, as I helped to monitor the Army, Air Force and OSD networks for intrusions. I had the opportunity to use existing intrusion detection tools as well as creating some of my own. This position also introduced me to IP networking, firewalls and Unix system administration.
