Trained volunteers on how to provide crisis counseling to LGBTQ youth. Monitored volunteer performance; provided feedback as well as volunteer retention services. Organized workers in AFT Local 1931; mediated conflict between workers and employers. Increased union membership by 50% Presented regular ‘Know Your Rights” trainings to marginalized workers & community members. Received weekly trainings on organizing, unionizing, and interpersonal work.Program Description: Intensive six-week summer fellowship for committed student activists. Gained hands-on organizing experience in local campaigns for economic justice, and also received skills and informational trainings from experienced organizers and community leaders. The goal of the program is to build the next generation of young leaders and community organizers who will effectively push forward social change and economic justice in San Diego.

Worked as part of the programming team to implement workshops and trainings that address social justice issues, with a gender focus, for a multitude of campus groups. Managed multiple projects at one time. Greeted guests and assisted them in finding resources; managed room reservations. Updated and maintained files and other systems of organization.

Outreached in local neighborhoods on behalf of the American Civil Liberties Union and Planned Parenthood. Fundraised thousands of dollars through direct outreach. Managed a team of canvassers to ensure broader fundraising goals were met.
