During my second year on the graduate program, I secured a graduate placement within the Naval sector of Selex ES for four months. At the beginning of the placement, I provided assistance to the Type 45 Destroyer programme as it moved from the Design for Manufacture phase into the In Service Support phase. I gained skills in Supportability, Lifecycle Management and Project Management. I then moved to the Military Networks area of the business where I was taught various signal processing techniques and primarily used Matlab to create functions for test. It was a great experience to work in a different sector.
