Sammy Davis joined Papa John’s International in 2014 as the senior leader of safety in the newly created role of Director of Safety. As the Director of Safety, Sammy held responsibilities managing the health and safety of 11 domestic Quality Control Centers along with one in Canada, Mexico City, and the United Kingdom. Following promotion in 2016 to Sr. Director of Safety & Compliance, Sammy expanded the safety team and added the additional responsibilities of DOT Compliance for a fleet of 200 commercial vehicles and 475 commercial drivers. In August of 2018, Sammy expanded the department once again, adding additional safety and security managers and nearly 500 corporate restaurants to the Safety department's responsibilities, increasing the focus beyond the Quality Control Centers.Most recently, following promotion to Vice President of Safety & Security, the department increased again by incorporating the security department in with the safety and compliance group. The newly formed Safety and Security department, operating under a multi-million dollar budget, is now responsible for the safety, security, and compliance of all domestic and limited international operations.

-Led an integration team during Clean Harbors Catalyst Technologies acquisition of CEDA’s US and Canadian Catalyst Companies-Accountable for oversight and delivery of Health, Safety & Environmental activities at multiple locations throughout the U.S., Canada and Trinidad, W.I. with revenue exceeding 70 million-Selected as a Health, Safety & Environmental Subject Matter Expert to participate in a corporate wide ERP valued >$10 million and winner of Microsoft Dynamics Technology Innovation-Enterprise award-Led the research, selection, configuration, and implementation of the integrated Health, Safety & Environmental management system during the ERP -Led the development and implementation of BBS throughout CEDA’s organization -Led the development and implementation of a formal Incident Review Board -Active member on Marathon Petroleum Company- Robinson IL. Developed, implemented and directed the employee health and safety programs for LTC. LTC is a multidisciplinary transportation company, providing services in five cities across three states. LTC employs approximately 1059 employees and 200 contract workers. Specific accomplishments to date include:Reduced workers comp costs per employee by 15%.Reduced accidents per million miles by 11%.Reduced operating costs by approximately $400,000 annually by conducting operations assessments and implementing change initiatives as a result of the findings. Specific program development and/or expansion delivered under my direction included:Formalized written Emergency Action Plans, Hazard Communication Plans, Lock Out/Tag Out, and Exposure Control Programs for all locations.Developed and implemented new hire physical agility testing process.Developed and implemented an Ergonomics program.Implementation of an auto accident investigation team.Formalized workers’ compensation oversight program including claim investigations and interviews.Implementation of a Driver Improvement Program with certification via AAA
