As the Environmental Flows and Levels Modeling Supervisor at the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD), I help lead a team of hydrogeologists, engineers, and environmental scientists who oversee crucial surface and groundwater modeling efforts. These efforts are aimed at projecting current and future water use demands within our 16 county District, as well as the protection of our beautiful, natural resources. I have over five years of experience in hydrogeology, aquifer recharge, ASR, ecohydrologic restoration, wetland assessments, geochemistry, project management, contract management, budget development, technical writing and presentations, and District geology/lithology. I have also collaborated with various local, regional, state, and federal agencies, as well as academic institutions, on research and innovation initiatives related to quantitative microbial risk assessment and microbial inactivation studies. Some of my notable projects include SHARP (South Hillsborough Aquifer Recharge Program), Flatford Swamp Aquifer Recharge Project, City of North Port ASR, and NHARP (North Hillsborough Aquifer Recharge Program). I have a Master of Science degree in geology with a focus in geophysics and volcanology, and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in geology, with a planned focus in combining hydrogeology, geophysics, and modeling. I also have considerable academic and professional experience in geochemistry. I currently hold a Geologist In Training (GIT) license, a certification in wetland delineation, and also recently passed my Florida Professional Geologist (PG) exam.
