My passion is organising information, ideas, data, systems, and processes, making them simpler and more practical, to help myself and others more effectively improve ourselves, our communities, and our planet. I currently work to organise information, ideas, and data to help ELT teachers and products be best prepared for the future of ELT and education, and feed this into our organisational vision and strategy.Before that, I worked in the Higher Education sector, both in course administration, leading a team of 7 to deliver undergraduate languages and linguistics degrees to thousands of students at one of the highest ranking universities globally, as well as programme management, delivering operational aspects of a £10,000,000 interdisciplinary and international AI + climate science research institute and facilitating collaboration between teams across the world. I have a Ph.D. in linguistics, where my research focussed on using corpus linguistics and qualitative data analysis to organise and interpret evaluations of social behaviour, and I’ve published research in the domains of (im)politeness, (meta)pragmatics, corpus linguistics, historical linguistics, stylistics, and touching on the areas of discourse analysis and metaphor analysis.
