Creating a model for predicting the common carotid bifurcation using palpation of bony landmarks for better assisting and estimating with vascular surgery. Developed a novel method for predicting the common carotid bifurcation using measurements from anterior neck dissections of human donors.

Full time research assistant in the Irianto Lab.Research focus: Detailing the impact of extracellular matrix (ECM) on drug delivery to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) tissue. Developed protocols to determine PDAC tissue sensitivity to gemcitabine under various ECM conditions. Generated 3D models of PDAC tissue using polyethylene glycol gels.

Research focus: Studied the classification of monocyte immune suppressor cell populations in sick and healthy canines to better elucidate their role in the tumor microenvironment. Developed a novel classification criterion for canine monocytes based on expression of the cell surface receptors- CD4, CD14, and MHC-II.Skill set includes analysis of blood smears, advanced molecular biology techniques including RNA isolation, cell culture, ELISA, and flow cytometry.

Research focus: Explored circadian rhythmicity of TRPM7 proteins in the Blood Brain Barrier. Performed experiments using advanced cell culture techniques, RT-PCR and RNA isolation. Learned how to handle and breed rodents (IACUC certified), perform surgeries, and used fluorescent microscopy and flow cytometry to analyze data.

Worked in the laboratory of Dr. Akash Gunjan in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Florida State University, first as a volunteer (2013-2014), learning techniques such as gel electrophoresis, western blotting and tissue processing relating to a project on glutamatergic NMDA receptors and subsequently as a YSP student (summer, 2015 - 2016) working on an ongoing project: Histone and IDH interactions connecting mechanisms contributing to pediatric and adult glioblastoma formation. I continued to work in the lab as a volunteer studying the role of histones in tumorigenesis in the summer of my freshman year (summer, 2017). Completed Biosafety II course for working in a laboratory. Have completed over 1000+ hours in the lab and am well versed in molecular biology techniques including Western Blotting, Gel Electrophoresis, PCR, DNA Extraction, and Cell culture work.
