I am working with the developers of Kaizena, a Google Drive app that allows teachers to record voice-based feedback to student writing directly into Google Drive. This app delivers the most effective level of feedback while solving the workflow issues that kept many teachers from using voice-based feedback.My role is to provide the practical and pedagogical understanding of what teachers need from a tool like this in traditional as well as Hybrid and distance learning classrooms.

I teach technology classes to K-5th grade students and support teachers in integrating tech into lessons an a meaningful way, putting pedagogy first.

Las Vegas, Nevada Area

DCB supports and mentors academically promising students in the Las Vegas area. Fewer than 7% of high achieving middle school students in this area will complete a 4 year college education. Through mentoring and intense summer learning in a close knit and supportive community DCB is working to change this trend. As the Writing teacher I get to help students develop the skills and confidence to share their voice with the world. This is good work to do.

I develop and implement an advisor training program to train teachers as advisors. The advisory program is a social and academic support program. Advisors work with a small cadre of students; the focus of the program is on developing the relationship between the teacher and the student. Dean of Student Advising and Outreach Designed an advisory program for the 9th and 10th grade. Designed and implemented professional development to support the success of the advisory program. Worked closely with the Director of Admissions to develop a consistent message about the changing face of our student body. Duties included supervision and assessment of instructors.

I worked on site at 2 high schools in San Diego. I worked with teachers to help them get students writing in all subject areas. Some of my best work was in the math classes.
