About Sam Tyler

For those looking to connect with me, my email address is dipsamt@gmail.com.As one executive said, "You don't give me what I want; you give me what I meant."I've spent nearly a decade developing reports that meet executive needs, analyzing those reports for variances, explaining the reports and variances, as well as developing the systems to automate the reports. In that time, I've learned to translate technical jargon and processes into language that executives can easily use with stakeholders.. Because of this, I'm able to look at a business problem, interpret what is needed for the solution, and implement the technology.Specialties: R, Tableau, ETL programming, requirements analysis, SQL development, and explaining complicated concepts in intuitive and easy to understand ways.

Using my knowledge of the healthcare industry, industry specific articles, or concerns/questions that my clients have, I prepare, balance, source, and validate the data (this usually happens once) and then I develop the solution using a variety of methods (e.g. visual analysis, statistical analysis, advanced statistics) and tools (e.g. a SQL database, Excel, Tableau, R, Python) targeting a 5:1 ROI.I developed a platform that balanced to an actuarial database by restructuring the data to best practices. From that data, we were able to find a lot of opportunities, including savings from using generic utilization ($200K/month), comparing retail costs to the wholesale price to determine gaps (~$5M one time), linking medication adherence to medical costs to determine those needing adherence ($120M/year), and other opportunities.I also raised the sophistication of analysis. Instead of looking at utilization by zip code, we used geocoding to find opioid usage within 2 miles (urban areas) of retail pharmacies. This gave an idea of high utilization areas and ideal partners. We also considered a alternate compensation model for producers. To estimate this, I created a random scenario algorithm and we used this data to estimate the impact of the change. Show less
