My role involved reviewing medical complaints against healthcare providers in New Zealand and, in cases where there may be a breach of the Code of Health & Disability Services Consumers'​ Rights, interviewing the parties involved and drafting the Commissioner's formal decision as to whether there has been a breach of the Code. Decision reports invariably included detailed follow-up recommendations for the provider(s). Many of the decisions are published.

My work involved the following:Drafting trust deeds and associated documentation to establish trusts and document financing arrangements; carry out related property transfers to and from trusts, corporate trustee work.Preparing other estate planning documents in relation to property settlements involving trusts; enduring powers of attorney; wills; separation and relationship property agreements; financing/debt structuring.Preparing relationship property agreements and separation agreements, sometimes for high net-worth clients; negotiating settlements and attending relationship property meetings.Preparing and filing court documents for the grant of probate and letters of administration.Drafting, advising on and explaining to clients the effect of documents including powers of attorney and wills.
