Arborist Apprentice
Current• Climb trees without spurs or spikes, operating at height of 75+ feet.• Identify and prune trees, making arboriculturally correct cuts (ANSI).• Perform tree removal if pruning is not a viable option. • Maintain, inspect, and operate a variety of equipment such as hydraulic aerial lift trucks, chainsaws, woodchippers and blowers.• Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris and/or feeds brush into a woodchipper.• Use wedges, sledges, and chain saws in felling trees or trimmed trunks and in cutting and splitting logs into manageable pieces.• Communicate and consult with clients while onsite.• Utilize best management practices to safeguard other employees and public from jobsite hazards in and around work area.
