Worked in the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics department as part of the Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) team. Developed skills in biological sample preparation, radioactive counting techniques, chromatography, mass spectrometry imaging and accelerator mass spectrometry, including its unique sample preparation method, graphitisation. Led the work on a project of quantifying drugs in tissue sections using the techniques of AMS and MALDI-MS; conducted the experiments, interpreted the results and chaired meetings giving progress updates to the project team. Gained experience in working in a multi-disciplinary GLP research environment, report writing, presenting and attended meetings on the latest science in drug discovery and development.
