I am the Resource Math at Shepherd Junior High. I teach students who have disabilities that affect their academic learning ability. The disabilities range from ADHD to Autistic. I consistently modify the assignments and assessments that align to the Common Core Standards and that will push students to their utmost academic potential. Before and after school hours, I facilitate IEP meetings with the student, parent(s)/guardian(s), and their team teachers. As an effective team, we collaborate into making an academic and behavior plan that will guide the student to success.Every day, I collaborate with all general education teachers by modifying assignments and assessments if necessary and accommodating students that need the extra practice. As special education teachers, one of our major goals is to slowly phase out the student's academic placement into the least restrictive environment.
