I am a Mechanical Designer at AVL Manufacturing INC in Hamilton, ON, with extensive experience in utilizing SolidWorks CAD software for designing power generation solutions for the following markets; oil & gas, mining, power generation, automotive, automation, construction, emergency management & energy storage. I apply engineering principles to system designs, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion through collaboration with the engineering team. My role involves designing parts and assemblies, developing testing procedures, conducting detailed structural analysis using finite elements (FEA), working with ERP (VISUAL), and coordinating with various departments for integrated electrical and mechanical systems.In my previous role as a Project Engineering Student (PES) Co-Op at Tiercon Corporation, Hamilton, ON, I collaborated on programs for leading vehicle manufacturers, focusing on CAD model creation, project management, assembly analysis, and design of assembly fixtures and tools. Additionally, I conducted FEA studies to optimize part painting and minimize costs. As a Construction Student Co-Op at Corner Point EIFS, Hamilton, ON, I demonstrated proficiency in managing diverse construction projects, enforcing health and safety regulations, and effectively communicating with manufacturers and distribution warehouses. My experience extends to retirement community and high-rise building construction, gaining valuable knowledge in materials and quality application techniques.Engineering and Academic accomplishment – Designed and manufactured a Portable 3D Printer for our CAPSTONE project. This endeavour resulted in winning the Best Capstone Award across the entire engineering faculty.The Portable 3D Printer addresses the issue of limited accessibility to 3D printing technology due to space constraints. Its compact and portable design, featuring an innovative upside-down configuration with modular components and a folding z-axis, allows it to fit within a standard-size filament box. This approach enhances accessibility and convenience for a broader range of users.The project's impact extends beyond our academic achievement. The Portable 3D Printer has the potential to revolutionize manufacturing and product design by providing a portable and user-friendly solution. This innovation caters to professionals who travel frequently, educators integrating 3D printing into teaching, hobbyists seeking versatile printing options, and individuals with limited space.
