Profile bio

About Samuel Mattei, Msme

My name is Sam Mattei. I am a creative-minded mechanical engineer whose background is with clinical settings and hip, knee, shoulder, and spine orthopedic medical devices. My main goals are to improve patient quality of life by improving both the technology that is implanted and the methodology that is used to implant the technology. During my undergraduate and graduate studies I was involved with tribological studies of different geometries of knee replacements, cadaveric surgeries to evaluate efficacy of THR and TKR surgeries, collection of biplane fluoroscopic data and marker kinematic data in large healthy and implanted cohorts, and creating a workflow for virtual segmentation of inter-femoral anatomy and implantation of various stems in large cohorts of individuals.During my professional journey I have developed interpersonal skills as a clinical research coordinator at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. To communicate critical patient information to medical providers, radiological staff, and patients to schedule and analyze patient data. During my time as a clinical research coordinator I worked closely to provide over 50 patients with informed consent and quickly was assigned more other opportunities within other projects. I am happy to discuss with you!
