As a Resident Manager within the department of Residence Life, I managed the front desk and key system of the largest residence hall on campus, Morrill Tower. Beyond providing exemplary supervision and guidance, I trained a 20+ member staff in front desk operations, customer service, and professionalism in the workplace.

As an Office Assistant, I was able to develop exemplary interpersonal skills as a result of working with many types of individuals and interacting with a diverse group of people including repairmen, university officials, students, and professors. Developing team-building exercises and organizing inventory developed my attention to detail and my recognition of the importance of communication and reliability among a staff.

Spending my time as an intern with the Department of Community Planning and Economic Development was very rewarding as I had a variety of opportunities. I provided input and subsequent redevelopment in the organization of available investment properties on the City of Youngstown’s website. My most consuming task was to organize, prioritize, and target specific tax delinquent properties to be acquired for the city's land bank program. I also updated and maintained a customer relationship management database to best serve economic development clients.

In this role, I worked with numerous community leaders and university personnel to bring a curriculum of positive youth development to the students of Columbus' South Side. Centering around a knowledge of basic science as well as growing healthy foods, I helped these students by providing an safe environment and relaying the importance of community connections. Organizing community service and keeping a consistent record of our activities at our different sites was another portion of my role.
