I started working at Ameritek Industries with the responsibilities of taking apart old industrial dies. My supervisors were impressed by the speed and efficiency of my progress and soon tasked me with taking apart other package manufacturing components called blankers. I was able to prove that I could take apart each one in a timely and orderly manner (sorting the parts that make up blankers into bins for reuse). Overtime, I was able to further expand my capabilities and responsibilities to include assembly of another packaging component called a male stripper board (there is a female counter-part to it). Originally, this was a time-consuming duty that involved hammering in special pins into pre-cut holes in a wooden board. However in 2020 the company bought a machine that would automatically install these pins in far less time. As a result, I am able to produce more male stripper boards in less time. Around April of 2020, I purchased a 3D printer for my hobbies. I had already been making computer models and animations for over ten years and the 3D printer was able to bring my ideas into a physical form. Learning the operations of it proved to be very straightforward and not complicated at all. As a matter of fact, when my superiors learned about my purchase, they asked me to print a special object for them. This part would help Ameritek decided whether or not to purchase a 3D printer for commercial use. I was successful but I realized that there was no need for such a machine for the company and convinced my managers not to purchase one.I continue to improve my 3D modeling and animation skills in my spare time. This is primarily for making video clips that end up on YouTube. One of the channels that I have contributed to is “Science and Futurism with Isaac Arthur”; this channel has a focus in all matters pertaining to space exploration,travel, colonization and civilization. Over the years my clips that have been featured include demonstrations of terraforming Mars and Venus, setting up a settlement on Mars and traveling to other stars in large O’Neil cylinders. I am currently working on modeling aircraft that do or do not exist so that I may be able to contribute to other YouTube channels. So far I have modeled the Boeing 747SP, McDonell-Douglas DC-10-30 trijet , the unbuilt Antonov An-218 passenger airliner and a short-takeoff-and-landing (STOL) combi. Hopefully I will be able to expand my modeling range to eventually include figurines.
