Urban Forestry - Program Coordinator
CurrentThe cog in the center of the wheel of the Urban Forestry Division in the City of Gainesville. I assist in running all day-to-day practices from: ⦁ Instructing tree surgeons⦁ Organizing urban tree plantings⦁ Organizing accessible public education on the benefits of a healthy urban forest⦁ Developing free educational materials for the public⦁ Tree inspections⦁ Inspecting tree-related code violations⦁ Tree removal permit processing⦁ Providing above and beyond customer service to the neighbors of Gainesville⦁ Writing grants to fund urban forestry projects⦁ Managing the Urban Forestry Division's yearly budget⦁ Managing the Tree Mitigation Fund⦁ Procuring all necessary urban forestry equipment⦁ Serving as the liaison to the Tree Advisory Board⦁ Coordinating contractual services such as tree watering contracts⦁ Creating work plans for all members of the Urban Forestry Division⦁ Creating maps in various mapping software such as GIS⦁ Assist in managing a tree-holding nursery⦁ In the field data collection⦁ Entering and analyzing data⦁ Assuring the Urban Forestry Master Plan is being executed as planned⦁ Organizing tree inventories for the entire City of Gainesville
