About Samuel Tooley

I distilled my interest in law from my diverse work experience. I discovered that my favorite work involved learning and applying new knowledge to complex problems. As an Engineering Technician in the United States Air Force, I learned small but focused aspects of other career fields in order to apply their unique requirements to the project planning I needed to do. As a map maker for a municipality in south Texas, I worked with every department, learning about each one in order to best serve their requirements. In Madison, I participate in the UW’s Missing in Action Recovery and Identification Project, where we research and investigate missing U.S. military personnel from past global conflicts. The work is rewarding both for the closure it offers surviving families, but also because I again get to learn about specific, focused, knowledge that can assist me with finding the missing soldiers, e.g., dental record analysis, DNA identification, and tidal patterns.
