The firm now known as Duxstad McDaniel Law Group, S.C., S.C., is the next generation merger of two firms with long histories: Duxstad, Bestul & McNaughton, S.C. and McDaniel Stauffacher, S.C. The two merged firms have been leaders in the Southwest Wisconsin legal community for more than 40 years.
In 1978, Governor Schreiber appointed Bob Duxstad, a recent law student graduate, as the Green County District Attorney. After gaining invaluable trial experience as DA for four and a half years, Bob decided to expand his private law practice to fulltime in 1983.
Dan Bestul came on board as an associate in 1987 and became a partner in 1988. In 2022, Lance McNaughton became a shareholder, and David Ewert and Alex Zahn joined as associates that year, as well.
Bill McDaniel was admitted to practice in 1979, and partnered with attorneys Ervin Johnson and Charles Kranz for many years. Aaron Stauffacher returned to his home town and joined Bill in 2020.
