Profile bio

About Samuel Wallace

I am a natural resource and policy professional, working in the field of public policy making and strategic process design. I am interested in participatory and collaborative public policy processes – essentially, how we can understand and design processes for public decision-making that are more effective, inclusive, and responsive to those affected by the outcome. I apply this knowledge to public issues concerning the environment and natural resources, a sub-set of public problems which are particularly well-suited for these approaches considering that environmental resources are not constrained by traditional social and political boundaries. My career path has taken me through a variety of sectors and topic areas. I have worked with city, state, and federal government agencies, community-based and statewide non-profits, and private sector consulting firms, tackling issues from water quality and quantity to forestry to waste management. A common theme that I have encountered is the need for effective methods of collaboration across multiple sectors and better ways to incorporate the public into the decision-making process that are engaging and meaningful to them.Interests & Skills:- Targeted Stakeholder Engagement- Consensus Building- Collaborative Problem-Solving- Public Participation Methods- Environmental and Natural Resource Planning

Listed skills include Microsoft Word, Public Speaking, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and 1 others.
