• Analyzed the content and methodology of city climate adaptation plans to determine best management practices in developing a climate adaptation plan for Lakewood• Worked independently to write a climate adaptation resiliency report for the City of Lakewood Planning Department, outlining a protocol of best steps to build a climate adaption plan

• Surveyed community recycling programs around the United States by evaluating the content of over 250 community websites for information on recycling access and description of recyclable materials• Evaluated different waste policies on a state level to determine the legal barriers to implementing community compost and e-waste programs, uploading that information using ArcGIS technology

• Collected on-site water samples and macroscopic organisms from streams connected to the Huron River, assessing water quality to enact change and improve river health• Analyzed different metrics of surrounding communities, including storm water drainage and road condition, to identify what human factors affected the streams

• Administered several programs as a board of five students to foster campus sustainability by providing monthly roundtables, funding for sustainability-related projects, and compostable materials for students to host zero waste events• Planned with organizations to incorporate compostable materials into student-led events to educate students about proper composting practices, reaching over 5,000 students in the Fall 2014 semester in over 100 separate events• Advised student organizations about their sustainable projects to connect them with relevant campus resources, allowing projects to make advances towards their goals
