About Sam Bailey

Sam Bailey is the Industrial Decarbonization Manager where he lead’s CATF’s work on technology and policy to reduce and eliminate industrial greenhouse gas emissions. Sam’s work focuses on decarbonizing the highest emitting sectors including iron and steel, cement, refining, chemicals, and food and beverage through a comprehensive technology approach.Sam joined CATF in 2022 as the Appalachian Regional Hubs Manager for the Hydrogen and Carbon Capture Programs. In this role, he led CATF’s work in the Appalachian and Mid-Atlantic regions to advance the deployment of clean hydrogen and carbon management hubs through technical discussion, innovation awareness, policy design and education, and stakeholder engagement.Prior to CATF, Sam worked in multiple industrial environments including specialty chemicals manufacturing for The Chemours Company as a Field Engineer. Previously, he focused on manufacturing technology, including process efficiency, capital improvement projects, and process hazard analyses of highly hazardous processes.Sam holds a B.S. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Management, from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
