Profile bio

About Sam Brown

I’m a graduate of Quinnipiac University (QU) with a BA in Game Design and if my major didn’t give it away, I am extremely passionate about the video game industry. I’m very familiar with the different processes and methodologies that go into the creation of a project, having created and worked on multiple games, apps, and websites throughout my professional and college career in different positions including team lead, artist, programmer, designer, and QA. In 2016 I started as a QA Intern for Sesame Workshop. From there I have worked my way up to part-time, then to full time, and at the start of 2021, I officially became the first point of contact for all QA related work. It was an agile, detail-focused position that had me working directly with producers and developers across the company to test and identify issues for our various digital products including games, websites, and mobile apps, then report my findings using Jira. I was also responsible for creating and updating our vast collection of HTML5 game repositories with Git and Bitbucket, and making sure all related content was up and running smoothly in our Content Management System. As of November 2022, I officially joined Atari as their Publishing and Compliance Coordinator. This role has me working with our producers and other members of the Games Team to ensure our titles are ready for distribution across first party platforms. This includes putting our titles through the certification process for each platform, reporting issues to our development partners as needed, as well as setting up each public-facing storefront page. I am also responsible for acquiring the proper age ratings for physical release when needed. In addition to these primary tasks, I am also constantly on the lookout across every platform for new ways to promote and market our titles. These positions have given me the necessary skills to work in any team-based, fast-moving, detail oriented environment, going above and beyond in my responsibilities while elevating my team.I have experience creating games in Unity, both 2D and 3D, GameMaker Studio 2, and HTML5. I am also proficient in a variety of programs including the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. At QU I learned to develop technical skills and competence in electronic art and design, including C#, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in order to code for games and websites. I am always looking to learn new software and methodologies to expand my skill set.

Listed skills include Project Management, Css, Unity3D, Unity2D, and 19 others.
