In this period I worked at the paper mill of Soffass Via Lazzareschi. During this time I expanded my background, focused mainly on research, with a productive experience. In addition, I have deepened my personal knowledge of the production process in the paper tissue industry.

Downstream process technologies:I worked on an integrated process for the transportation/storage and valorization of gas streams (methane) with high carbon dioxide content.In the field of transportation and storage, I studied Adosrbed Natural Gas (ANG) technology on a benchscale plant.Concerning exploitation of the gas, I evaluated the possible application of Eni's proprietary Short ContactTime Catalytic Partial Oxidation (SCT-CPO) technology on a bench-scale plant for conversion to Syngas.SCT-CPO is Eni's alternative to the current Best Available Technologies for Syngas production.

During this experience I evaluated the enhancement of waste lignocellulosic biomasses to obtain green additives for fuels (Advanced Biofuel).I developed a good knowledge on the use of analysis and characterization equipments (HPLC, GC-FID, GC-MS, ATR-IR, FT-IR, XRD) and applied principles of chemometry through the development of experimental designs for optimization of the conversion process.I collaborated with the Energy Engineering Department of the University of Pisa to testing the synthesized additive with engine bench system.In the course of this experience, in addition to technical knowledge, I developed a good ability to collaborate with different professionals.
