• Led UCLA's award-winning daily student newspaper, which serves tens of thousands of readers as the only 5-day-a-week newspaper in the University of California.• Was responsible for managing a staff of more than 520 editors, writers, photographers, designers, web developers and digital content creators to run the newspaper and its subsidiary publications.• Oversaw the Daily Bruin's long-term vision and day-to-day execution, managed editorial finances for a $500,000 newsroom operation, and served as the public face of the paper.• Spearheaded and organized a successful student body fee referendum that allowed The Bruin to become the most sustainably funded student newspaper in the country in the face of industrywide declines.

• Managed a team of 14 reporters as the assistant news editor responsible for the paper's news coverage of crime and courts, natural disasters, local businesses and organizations, campus housing and dining, Greek life, area transportation, UCLA graduate schools, and the student association. Assigned and edited articles daily.• While serving as an editor, also reported on major events including breaking news such as the 2014 UCLA flood, as well as crimes, arrests, and protests on campus and in the West Los Angeles area. Covered student government meetings and other campus, science and health, and political topics, and my stories were frequently cited in other Los Angeles news media.

• Was The Bruin's lead reporter for coverage of crime, fire and courts. I worked with university police, the Los Angeles police and fire departments, the district attorney and city attorney's offices, the Los Angeles Superior Court, Los Angeles County coroner's office, attorneys and others to compile breaking news and follow-up stories.• Expanded the paper's coverage of crime-related issues, writing trend stories and features and contributing to an enterprise package examining UCLA's response to sexual assault on campus. Received the Daily Bruin's "Best News Reporter"​ award in 2014.
